Crook County Museum

Located in the heart of Sundance, the Crook County Museum offers an immersive experience into the rich history of northeast Wyoming.

With exhibits ranging from Native American artifacts to the infamous Sundance Kid and the Wild West era, our extensive collection provides a fascinating glimpse into the vibrant past of this unique region.

As you walk through the Crook County Museum you will be taken back in time. The 7000 artifacts in the vignettes of the exhibits keep you wondering what’s around the next corner.

Visitors can explore vignettes depicting life on a ranch, outlaws like the Sundance Kid, Native American heritage, and scenes of 19th-century frontier life.

Exhibits also showcase the natural and cultural legacy of the region, from geology to Native American tools. Set in a historic 1923 schoolhouse, the museum invites guests to experience the spirit of the American West.

1878 Gift Shop & Gallery

The 1875 Gift & Gallery has the best regional art for sale from bronze sculpture, colored pencil, water color, photography, collage, hand formed jewelry, pottery, and oils.  The 1875 Gift & Gallery has art from wildlife, still lifes, interpretive, conceptual, and functional. This museum & art gallery has it all and something for everyone. The 1875 Gift & Gallery was formed to give our local artists a place to sell and show and give others a chance to be exposed to the art world.
